Osan

I’m getting orders to Osan Air Base. I’m an A1C with a fiancé, bonus daughter and a baby on the way. My report no later than date is 25 May 2025. Hopefully I will be able to extend my report day out 60 more days because my baby will be born in April and I would like to be here for at least the first 3 months of her life.

If I’m being honest I’m in an effed up situation. Chances were probably already low for bringing my family with me. But my fiancée doesn’t have full custody of her daughter. I had a conversation with my fiancée’s bd and he doesn’t want his daughter to go to Korea. I truly understand and empathize with that bc that would be two years of him being 11,000 miles away from her. They have an agreement already that he sees her every summer and every other holiday but even then it would be an inconvenience for everyone involved.

Im a first term airman and don’t want to deny my orders and risk not being able to reenlist or lose any benefits. Also I truly want to go overseas that was why I joined in the first place. I feel so much guilt because my fiancée was already a single mother before I showed up and promised I would never abandon her and the kids and now that duty calls, I’m stuck with quadruple edged sword situation. If y’all were in my situation, which I pray none of you ever will be, how should I go about this?
