why is everyone smarter than me?

I've never been exceptional, I know that. But it's gotten to the point where if it wasn't for my parents, I would've dropped out by now. In every subject, anthropology, math, criminology, I just cannot do it. All the topics feel so confusing and I can't possibly memorize all of it. And then, there's people speaking up in class, making all encompassing statements about something we literally just learned from two bullet points. Was I supposed to be memorizing everything in history that's ever happened? I don't understand politics, I don't get the government or like how society works. I didn't know I was supposed to know all this stuff. I don't know what a 401K plan is, or whatever. I'll look at a question like, "The minority perceived a blurring of distinctions between corporations and labor unions on the one hand and people on the other, correct or incorrect", and its just like.. what? what are those words what are you saying. How am I supposed to get a job? I'm a junior. studying criminology just cause I thought it would be easy. But if you were to ask me anything about criminology all I would be able to say is like... uh.. police can sometimes do bad things and the system is corrupt. like what girl come on. I'm not built for this and I don't know what else I could possibly do.
