My husband doesn’t want me to get a Master’s degree.

My husband doesn’t want me to get a Master’s degree out of insecurity that he will no longer be the main provider. I have already been accepted into the program I applied for and need to register for classes. Do I register without telling him or attempt to have a discussion (which will most likely end with him saying no)?

Edit: To answer a couple of the most frequent questions popping up.

1. He flat out told me once I get the degree he will feel “less than” and that he believes I will treat him as “less important” due to my earning more money.

2. The Master’s is required to get the certification in the field I am currently working in.

3. My company will cover 20%-100% of the cost as I will be working for the university I am attending. Even if only 20% is covered it will cost $20k. Getting the degree and certification will automatically increase my salary by $40k.
