Just outlined my newest fic, and the outline alone is longer than half my one-shots…
I don’t know whether to be worried or excited. On the one hand, I have a lot of passion for this story. As evidenced by the fact I just spent the last four hours roughly outlining 24 chapters. This outline—which uses shortcuts to be typed faster—is over 4,000 words. But I usually tend towards brevity and half of my stories are that long in total. It’s a little overwhelming.
Anyone have any tips for dealing with longer works like these? How do I not get ahead of myself? And are there any pitfalls that I should be aware of?
