People who were diagnosed with ADHD in their mid 20s or later, how did you cope up?
I had my first professional therapy session and I was diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type).
I’m really struggling with it as it explains a lot of decisions from my past.
1) I'm really grieving the time that I lost. All the things that I planned to do but I left midway, being called lazy by everyone that was close to me and saw me struggle in life. I'm also angry at my parents for never taking me to a psychiatrist even when they saw how it took me 3 times the effort to achieve 1/3 the things compared to my peers.
2) Also, how did you catch up in life? I had planned to do so many things in my life from reading self-improvement books to doing things. However, I'm worried that my ADHD won't allow me to break out of my cycle. I'll be working with a therapist to build the skills that I missed out on in my formative years but it seems so overwhelming.
