Something I don't get about Yotsuba's backstory

So Yotsuba joining a lot of sports clubs in her old school was a big reason on why she failed her exams, she feels guilty about having all her sisters transferred and she supposedly learned her lesson, but then after being transferred to the new school she joins a lot of sports clubs again, why would she do that? Especially after finding out that Futaro was going to be their tutor.

I completely understand that she liked the praise and the feeling of being useful for her teammates, but one of the main reasons she did all that was because she wanted to stand out and feel like the superior quint, and she supposedly already got over that selfish attitude. I could understand if she decided to go back to sports only after getting frustrated with more bad grades, but that wasn't the case.

It's been like a year since I watched the anime, so a lot of things are not fresh in my mind, if I'm just saying nonsense feel free to tell me so.
