Is PVP worth it in 2024?

I spent most of my childhood playing OSRS and it looks like a good game to get back into. I always loved the PVP scene, how is it now? Worth getting into for PVP? Or would i be wasting my time. How does it compare to other mmo pvp? Far superior?

Or would it be better to just give normal gameplay / pve a go
